Rakishan has broken chest and hands

When it comes to Children, especially the ones who are a product of rape or victims of rape I can’t just ignore or shut my door to them. Afterall they don’t deserve it.

Meet Rakishan Muyonjo 6yrs old. His mother gotten pregnant out of rape. It was in the dead of the night on the 4th of July 2009 when a stranger attacked her from her hostel.

Because rape is considered a shame or curse she went silent not knowing she was impregnated. When she missed her periods she went for a test and learnt she was pregnant, she wanted to abort but its still criminal in Uganda, she had to carry the pregnancy.

On giving birth her parents chased her away from home and they demanded to know who is the father, her explainations didn’t make sense to them and she run away and abandoning the little 8months baby on the streets of Jinja, because she was suffering internally and alone she took her life.

Her parents weren’t interested in their grandson.

Rakishan was said by kind strangers who took him to the police, and police has been keeping him in different hands for years. Last fall I officially accepted him as my own.

But yesterday as I went to the hospital to check the sick kids, playfull Rakishan played out of control and fell off a tree. He has broken chest and hands, I took him to the clinic but the situation seem critical.
